Provo company makes cloud storage options more searchable

Almost everyone who needs to access their computer files on the go utilizes cloud services like Google Drive or Dropbox.

Many also attach unique emails to separate drives in order to compartmentalize distinct parts of our lives and duties — drives or cloud files for family documents, others for work documents, and still others for volunteering or service-related items.

“The problem comes in for the consumer who says, ‘I have no idea where anything is. What was that file name? What was it about?’ So we decided to give them tools to make all of that manageable and searchable,” said Tyrone Pike, president and CEO of FileShadow.

Provo-based FileShadow is a new software that allows “prosumers” (or professional consumers), and small- to medium-sized organizations to find and connect their disparate cloud files. It also protects, catalogs and archives them into a secure and searchable single location, Pike explained. But users don’t need to upload all their content to yet another place to use FileShadow — it simply connects the dots for them.
