For the fourth year in a row, Salesforce in 2017 ranked №1 CRM Provider in an annual report by International Data Corporation (IDC), based on the market giant’s 26 percent growth. What does this mean to the average person, you might wonder? With its customer base of more than 150,000 and continued growth, it means plenty of opportunity for jobseekers and established employees alike to increase their value to employers by gaining Salesforce expertise and accreditation.
According to Indeed.com, two of the top 10 jobs in 2017 were Salesforce-specific, with an estimated 300,000 job postings specifying Salesforce-related skills. And that’s just the tip of the ecosystem’s iceberg. In its third Salesforce-commisioned report, IDC in 2017 published some compelling figures and projections on Salesforce’s current and projected reach within the global economy — data that further underscore the value of a Salesforce credential. The Salesforce ecosystem is expected to generate approximately 3.3 million new jobs and more than $859 billion in new business revenues worldwide by 2022. That’s a major lift over IDC’s 2016 forecast in which it was speculated that the Salesforce Economy would create 1.9 million jobs and $389 billion in new revenues by 2020.
